As you’ll know, he’s pledging to cut benefits for people who are able to work, but who refuse to work. Whatever your political leanings, surely that’s absolutely right, and the way it should be? And it’d be irrespective of class, so personally I am not sure this really works. It might make some people laugh though I guess!
He may say that.
But the rest of the Daily Mailers in his constituency parties would probably cut benefits for anyone who hadn’t been to Harrow or Eton.
“he’s pledging to cut benefits for people who are able to work, but who refuse to work”
But this already happens under the current schemes. What he’s proposing has been in existence for years. So either it’s a hollow promise, or it’s a seriously evil reconfiguration of the benefits system, geared to take money from the poor (and, given previous form, give it to the rich).
Does it? I wonder how my (graduate) mates who’ve been signing on for years have got away with it then. At least under Cameron (who I don’t even bloody support! I just thought the above was a bit lame), they’d be made to work on community projects. I bet they’d soon snap up the ‘unsuitable’ office jobs then!

Either way, what a knob.
